报告摘要:It is well known that all solutions of the initial value problem
are periodic. The period T(α) (time for y(t) to complete one oscillation) is a function of the initial amplitude α. We are interested in finding conditions on the nonlinear function f(y) such that T(α) is a monotonic function of α, namely, that a larger amplitude α leads to a longer (or shorter) period T(α). A special situation is when T(α) is a constant, for any given α. The equation is then said to be isochronous. Known and new results are surveyed.
